honestly i am so over the standard chatgpt interface for my blog posts. i spent like three hours today trying to get it to write a 2000 word guide for this new client i have in the uk and it just keeps cutting off mid sentence or repeating the same three points over and over again and it is driving me insane. i try saying continue but then it loses the tone or forgets the outline we literally just talked about. im looking for a wrapper or a specific tool that actually handles long form stuff without me having to babysit it every two minutes. i have a budget of maybe $35 a month tops since im just starting out as a freelancer.

what i really need:

something that can actually output 1500 to 2500 words in one go

needs to follow a specific outline i give it

doesnt sound like a generic robot every other paragraph

would be great if it had some kind of built-in research tool or seo checker

does anyone actually use something that works for this? im tired of wasting my subscription money on something that makes me do twice the work just to fix its mistakes. i need to get this project done by friday or im gonna lose this gig...

I am actually at my breaking point with this project right now. Ive been sitting here for like six hours straight just copy-pasting responses from the OpenAI website into my spreadsheets and its honestly driving me insane. I work for this tiny marketing firm in Chicago and weve got this massive list of about 2,000 customer reviews that I need to categorize and summarize by Friday but doing it manually is just not happening. I keep hitting the rate limits on the web version and then when I finally get a response the formatting is all messed up and I have to spend another ten minutes fixing the cells so they actually look right.

Its such a total waste of time and I feel like a complete idiot doing it this way when I know there has to be a better way to just get the AI to live inside the spreadsheet. I tried looking at some YouTube videos but half of them are just people trying to sell their own sketchy courses or the tools look way too complicated for what I need. I just want something where I can write a formula like =CHATGPT(A1) or whatever and have it just work without me having to jump back and forth between tabs.

I dont have a huge budget since my boss is kinda cheap so maybe like $20 or $30 a month tops if it actually works and doesnt crash my computer every five minutes. I've heard there are add-ins or maybe some script thing but I am definitely not a coder and I dont want to spend three days learning how to use the API directly or messing with Python if I can avoid it. I just need it to be simple and reliable.

Has anyone actually used a reliable tool or an add-in that lets you pull ChatGPT responses directly into Excel cells without all this manual nonsense?

Okay so I finally started using ChatGPT for my new freelance copywriting project starting on Monday and omg it is literally life changing but I feel like I'm not using it to its full potential yet. I've been looking at all these chrome extensions and honestly my head is spinning a bit lol. I'm trying to find something that stays totally free because I'm on a super tight budget until my first invoice gets paid next month.

So I was thinking about AIPRM because everyone says the prompt library is amazing for SEO stuff but then I saw WebChatGPT and my logic was that having real-time internet access would be way better for fact checking my articles since the base model has that knowledge cutoff date. But then there is also ChatGPT Writer which looks way cleaner for just replying to client emails quickly. Im kinda torn between just sticking to one or if I should try to layer them? Like is AIPRM too bloated for a beginner? I really need something that wont slow down my browser too much because my old laptop is already struggling with all my open tabs for research.

AIPRM (for the prompts)

WebChatGPT (for the live data)

ChatGPT Writer (for email speed)

Anyone have a preference between these three or maybe a hidden gem I missed? I just want to be super efficient before my deadline on Wednesday...

So I've been trying to learn how to make a basic website for my local baking club here in Seattle and it's been pretty rough honestly. I'm trying to get it done by the end of next month but I have like zero experience with programming stuff. My brother told me I should use ChatGPT to write clean code so I don't mess things up but I'm looking at the site and there are so many options I'm just totally overwhelmed. I see there's GPT-4o and then a bunch of custom GPTs in the store and then someone mentioned something called Cursor or maybe it was Copilot? I don't really know. I'm only working with a small budget of maybe 20 bucks so I really don't want to buy the wrong subscription if it's not gonna actually help me keep things organized. Right now my code is just a huge pile of text and I cant even figure out where I made mistakes. I feel pretty silly asking this because it probably seems obvious to you guys but I'm just so lost on what to actually click on. Which of these ChatGPT tools or specific versions are actually the best for making sure the code is simple and clean and not a total mess for a beginner like me...

Im honestly so over trying to keep up with all these ai coding assistants while Im buried under this massive Django project for a client in Seattle. My deadline is in two weeks and Im falling behind cause I keep getting stuck on these weird legacy bugs. I have a strict $20 a month budget for tools so I cant just buy everything. I have been trying the free version of ChatGPT but the constant copy-pasting is killing my flow and its driving me crazy.

Im torn between just getting the ChatGPT Plus sub for the web interface or finally switching to Cursor since everyone on twitter keeps screaming about it. But then theres GitHub Copilot which seems like the safe bet since its already in my VS Code. Cursor looks cool because it feels more native but I dont want to waste time learning a whole new IDE when I have two weeks to ship this thing. If I go with ChatGPT Plus at least I can use it for other stuff like drafting emails but then I still have the copy-paste nightmare. Copilot is great for autocomplete but does it actually help with the bigger logic problems?

Im just really frustrated and dont want to waste my twenty bucks on something that wont actually speed me up. Which one of these is actually worth it for a dev in the weeds?

ive narrowed it down to these three basically:

Sider (the sidebar one)

Merlin

WebChatGPT

so i was thinking Sider because it seems really convenient to just have it there while im reading articles but then i saw Merlin and it looks like it has way more features for writing emails and stuff which i do a lot of for my freelance clients. my logic was that WebChatGPT would be best for the research side since it gets live data but i really dont want it to clutter up my google search page every time i look something up.

budget is a huge thing too because Merlin seems kinda pricey for what it is and i already pay for the monthly plus sub so i dont want to double dip if i can avoid it. i need to get this set up by tomorrow morning at the latest to stay on track. which one actually helps with speed without being a resource hog? i keep jumping between them and cant make a choice...

I've been coding for about 10 years now and I usually pride myself on being able to handle whatever refactoring comes my way but man this current project is actually killing me. I've got this client in Chicago who needs me to migrate a massive chunk of legacy PHP over to a modern FastAPI backend and I've only got about three weeks left before their hard launch date. Usually I'd just grind it out but there are literally hundreds of endpoints that need basic boilerplate, validation logic, and unit tests. I've been copy-pasting back and forth from the ChatGPT web UI and it’s just not sustainable anymore. I'm losing my mind with the context window limits and having to constantly remind the model about the project structure every single time I open a new chat. I'm honestly starting to get pretty anxious about hitting the deadline because the manual overhead is just eating my days alive. I know the basics of using the API and I've messed around with a few VS Code extensions but everything feels so hit or miss lately.

Some of these tools just hallucinate the file paths or provide really shallow code that I have to spend twenty minutes fixing anyway which kind of defeats the point of automation. I need something that can actually handle batch processing or at least understand the codebase well enough to automate the repetitive stuff without me babysitting every single line. I'm looking for actual tools or maybe even just a specific workflow using the API that people are actually finding success with for heavy lifting like this. I've been looking at stuff like:

Cursor for the IDE integration

Aider for the terminal based stuff

Custom scripts using the gpt-4-turbo API

Is it better to stick with something like Cursor or are there better command line tools that can pipe multiple files through a specific prompt set? I'm worried about some of these autonomous agents just blowing through my API credits and making a total mess of the git history while I'm not looking. My budget isn't huge but I can justify a few paid tools if they actually save me the 40+ hours of manual labor I'm looking at right now. What are you guys actually using when you have to automate like... hundreds of files worth of coding tasks using GPT? I really need to speed this up before I completely burn out on this project and miss the launch window...

honestly my head is spinning trying to get through these 40+ page research papers for my masters thesis and I just dont have the time to read every single word anymore. I need a summary tool like yesterday. I keep seeing ads for Harpa AI and then there is that Sidebar extension - the one with the green icon - but i dont know if they actually work or just hallucinate half the stuff when the text gets really long.

my logic was that Harpa seems more powerful because it does the whole automation thing too but then i saw some thread saying it gets really laggy if the article is actually long. then i looked at the ChatGPT for Google sidebar and it seems okay but i think they want a monthly sub for the premium features and i am a broke student so my budget is basically zero dollars right now.

im torn because i need something that wont just cut off the text halfway through a 5000 word article. i tried just copying and pasting into the main site but it keeps hitting the token limit and i have to manually split it which takes forever. what are you guys actually using for long-form stuff that doesnt break the bank or my patience...
