ive been trying to learn about this deepseek-v3 thing for my home computer but honestly i am totally lost on the hardware side. i have about 800 bucks saved up and really dont want to waste it on the wrong part.
sorry for the noob question but what is the best gpu to buy for this?

You might want to be careful since DeepSeek-V3 is a huge model. For $800, I would suggest finding a used NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 24GB GDDR6X because you really need that 24GB VRAM for quantization. If you buy new, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB GDDR6X is basically the choice, but make sure to check your power supply. 16GB is still gonna be tight for this tho.
