Hey everyone! I’ve been looking for a solid AI tool to generate lo-fi beats for my coding livestreams and YouTube background tracks. I really need the music to be 100% royalty-free so I don't have to worry about copyright strikes or complex licensing down the road. I’ve played around with a few basic generators, but most of them sound a bit too robotic or repetitive for my taste. I’m specifically looking for something that allows for some customization over the mood and tempo to get that perfect chill vibe. Does anyone have a favorite platform that balances quality with easy commercial rights? I'd love to hear what you're using for your projects!
Same setup here, love it
Just catching up on this thread! After researching the market for years, Soundraw is definitely the top contender for customization. But if you want a different vibe, I also recommend checking out Boomy and AIVA.
1. Soundraw is BEST for mood control.
2. Boomy is faster for cranking out tons of tracks.
3. AIVA gives you way more deep composition control.
Honestly, Soundraw wins for streamers because the licensing is sooo straightforward. GL with the coding streams!!
Quick question - how much control do you actually need over the individual tracks? I've been doing the DIY music thing for years, and honestly, the 'robotic' feel usually comes from lack of layering. Before I give advice, are you looking to just tweak a few sliders for mood, or do you want to export the stems to mix them yourself? I've found Soundraw is AMAZING for quick chill vibes, but knowing your workflow helps! ✌️
Just found this thread! Honestly, if your looking for that long-term peace of mind, I've been using a few tools for over a year now for my own channel and haven't hit a single copyright snag. Before I give a full breakdown tho, I gotta ask—how long are your typical streams? And are you looking to edit the actual MIDI notes or just move some mood sliders around?
I've been super happy with Soundraw for my coding background music. It basically stops that 'robotic' loop feeling because:
- You can customize the length to literally whatever
- The 'Chilled' and 'Ambient' moods are highkey perfect
- No complex licensing headaches later on
I mean, it works well for me and I've never had a complaint from YouTube... but yeah, let me know about your technical needs first! peace

For your situation, I’ve been using Soundraw and honestly it works well for my streams.
1. It’s super reliable for commercial rights so you wont get hit with copyright strikes.
2. You can basically customize the chill vibe however you want, which is great.
I’m really happy with how it sounds... not robotic at all!! Just make sure you double check the license terms to be safe, but yeah, its pretty solid. 👍

You might want to consider looking into Beatoven for your streams. I would suggest being a bit careful with the licensing agreements tho, because you want to make sure you're covered for both the live and VOD side of things. Just make sure to read their terms on commercial use before you commit so you dont run into trouble later. Honestly, just get any of the paid plans from Beatoven and you'll probably be fine for YouTube. Their stuff sounds pretty natural since it stays away from that overly clean MIDI sound that makes things feel robotic. I've found that the reliability of their license is a bit better for long-term projects. If you need any help figuring out how to loop the tracks or anything, just lmk!

Saved for later, ty!
Re: "Solid advice 👍" - honestly I’ve been deep diving into the tech side of this lately and the neural network stuff is where it’s at! If you want lo-fi that actually sounds like a human made it in their bedroom, you gotta move past the basic MIDI stuff. I’ve been using Suno AI Pro Plan for my background loops and it is freaking amazing! It understands the swing of lo-fi drums way better than most apps. Here is why it works for me:
Solid advice 👍
Can vouch for this
