I’m really curious about how LLMs and image generators actually work, but I’m constantly on the go. I’m looking for a mobile app that offers bite-sized lessons on generative AI concepts like prompting and neural networks. Does anyone know of a platform with interactive modules or quizzes that isn't too academic? I'd love something beginner-friendly that I can use during my commute!
yo! i feel u on the commute thing, it's basically the only time i get to learn stuff too. Honestly, I've been using Brilliant.org Premium Subscription and it's AMAZING for this. they have a whole section on generative AI and neural networks that is super interactive and not dry at all. i think it's like $13 a month if u do the annual plan? totally worth it cuz the lessons are like 5 mins long. gl!!

Ok so Brilliant is solid, but if you want something even more casual, check out Sololearn: Learn to Code or Enki: Learn data science, AI. Honestly, Enki is great because it has a dedicated AI track that feels like a game. It's basically free for the basics too, so it's super cost-effective for a commute. No complaints here, it literally works so well! 👍
Soo I stumbled upon this discussion and honestly, I've been in ur exact shoes. A few years back I spent a ton of money on fancy courses that were way too academic, and I ended up dropping them cuz they were boring lol. But anyway, if ur looking for something budget-friendly for the commute, I'd actually recommend checking out Coursera.
Before you think it's too formal, they have a 'financial aid' option for almost every course which is basically a lifesaver if ur being cost-conscious. Also, deeplearning.ai has some short, non-technical courses on there that explain neural networks using simple analogies.
1. Use the 'Audit' mode—it's free and you get all the videos.
2. Look for 'AI for Everyone'—it's literally built for beginners.
3. Download the modules for offline use on the train!
I guess the main lesson I learned is you don't need a degree to get how LLMs work, you just need a platform that doesn't charge a fortune for basic concepts. gl!
