Ive been maining Openclaw since the beta days and usually I can carry my weight in most groups but these new Obsidian Spire raids are just wrecking my stats. Im hitting my rotations perfectly but I keep getting out-damaged by basically everyone and the raid leader actually kicked me last night because my burst phase was pathetic during the burn window. Its so annoying because Ive spent over 40 million gold on my current gear setup and my crit ceiling is already capped at 75% so I dont know what else to tweak.

Ive tried:

  • swapping to Void Claws for the extra armor pen
  • re-specing the agility tree three times in one week
  • focusing pure DOT instead of direct burst

The proc rates on the claw-swipe are just garbage right now and I have about three weeks to get this sorted before my guilds big push for the season leaderboard rewards. Im honestly lost and starting to think the class is just bugged for high-end content or something. Should I be dumping more points into Shadow Step for the I-frame uptime or is there a specific hybrid build for the bleed stacks that actually scales past the armor mitigation of these T10 bosses? I feel like Im missing something obvious with the passives and its driving me crazy...

Look, I've run the numbers on Openclaw for years and you're hitting the classic diminishing returns wall. That 75% crit cap is actually a trap in Obsidian Spire because boss armor scaling is wild. Stop dumping points into Shadow Step... that's for survivability, not DPS. You need to focus on the Hysteria stack synergy. Basically, when you hit 5 stacks of bleed, you gotta pop the Gore-Lust passive for that 40% damage multiplier. I've tried many builds and the Bleed-Burst Hybrid is the only thing that scales past the T10 mitigation right now. Also, if your timing feels off, maybe check your hardware. I've been using the Logitech G502 X Plus Wireless 25K DPI and the macro response time basically fixed my animation cancels. TL;DR: Drop Shadow Step, max out Gore-Lust, and time your burst for the 5-stack bleed window. Raw crit wont save you if you arent multiplying the base damage.

Quick reply while I have a sec. @Reply #2 - good point! Armor penetration is definitely the missing link once you hit that crit ceiling. Most players get stuck trying to force raw stats when the scaling shift in these raids demands a more methodical approach to bleed uptime. Basically, you want to pivot your remaining gold into the following:

  • Max out the Bloodletting passive for the T10 armor shred
  • Pick up a Razer Tartarus V2 Mecha-Membrane Gaming Keypad to manage those frame-perfect bleed refreshes
  • Swap your primary weapon enchant to flat physical damage I have been running this specific setup for the last two months and honestly have no complaints. It works well because you stop fighting the boss defense and start bypassing it. Its very satisfying to see those numbers finally jump during the burn windows. Youll notice a massive difference immediately if your rotation is already solid.

Late to the party but the first guy is totally right about that crit cap being a trap. I spent way too much gold realizing the same thing... honestly its painful. You might want to consider looking at the Rending Strikes passive instead of dumping everything into raw agility. Boss armor in the Spire is just too thick for standard crit builds to pierce effectively anymore. I would suggest being careful with how you're timing your animations tho. Sometimes the game doesnt register the claw-swipe proc if you're animation-canceling too early. I actually had a similar issue with my burst phase feeling sluggish until I swapped my gear. I picked up the SteelSeries Apex Pro TKL Wireless Mechanical Keyboard and it made a world of difference for my rotation speed. Being able to adjust the actuation point meant I wasnt fighting my own keys during the burn window. It's a bit of an investment but way cheaper than blowing another 40 million gold on re-specs that wont fix the underlying mechanical timing. Make sure to keep an eye on your internal cooldowns for the bleed stacks. If you're clipping your own dots, you're basically throwing away DPS. Just stay focused on the armor shred and you'll see those numbers climb eventually. Dont let the raid leader get to you... the Spire is just overtuned right now for anyone not running the meta shred setup.
