I'm looking for recommendations that cater to both beginners and experienced musicians. It would be great to know about tools that offer unique features, ease of use, and any that are particularly good for specific genres or purposes. Additionally, how do these tools handle copyright issues, and are there any notable pros and cons to consider? Thanks in advance for your insights!

Like someone mentioned, those cloud tools are cool but I really geek out over the specs and the cost efficiency of running local models. Its amazing how much you can do now without a massive studio budget! I started my journey trying to save every cent and ended up loving the technical side of the open source stuff.

  • Meta AudioCraft MusicGen-Medium is fantastic. It uses a transformer model and you can run it for free on Hugging Face or your own rig.
  • Suno AI Monthly Subscription is great for quick prototyping. I love it because the price-per-track ratio is actually very low compared to hiring session singers.
  • LALAL.AI 90-minute Pack is my go-to for stem separation. The data accuracy on the vocal isolation is top tier for the price. Basically, if you have a decent GPU, local is the way to go to save cash long-term. Ive been running these for months and the output quality vs cost is just unbeatable. The 32kHz sampling on the local builds sounds pro after some light mastering... definitely worth the setup time!

It demonstrates the power of deep learning in creating complex musical compositions, though it's more experimental in nature.

  • Google Magenta
