I just started playing yesterday and got this Openclaw thing and it looks so cool! Im only level 12 playing on my old laptop during lunch.

I keep just clicking everything lol but I dont know what other skills to pick with it? Sorry if this is basic but what buttons should I be pressing to help it out?

Openclaw is a fantastic choice for your primary slot! I love it because it has amazing frame-perfect synergy with high-mobility builds. Based on my technical testing of the 1.2 patch data, here are the two best options for your secondary buttons:

  • Blood Rend: This adds a 15% bleed multiplier to every claw strike. Pros: Incredible damage scaling. Cons: High stamina drain per second.
  • Sonic Burst: This provides a 20% attack speed buff for 5 seconds. Pros: Fantastic for clearing mobs quickly. Cons: Longer 30-second cooldown. In my experience, Sonic Burst is superior for leveling efficiency. Since youre clicking a lot on an old laptop, using Logitech G502 HERO Wired Gaming Mouse 25K Sensor will save your hand and offer much better precision than a trackpad. Its fantastic for these high-APM builds!

Just saw this... since youre on an older laptop, you might want to consider skills that dont use too many flashy effects or you might get some lag. I would suggest looking at these two to help your Openclaw build without making the game stutter:

  • Frost Nova: This is perfect for freezing mobs in place. It gives you a safe window to use your claws without getting hit back.
  • Inner Fire: It gives a nice little boost to your attack speed and damage. Its very low-cost and easy on the graphics. Be careful with the mana cost on Frost Nova tho, it drains fast if you spam it. If youre playing on a rough surface at lunch, get a SteelSeries QcK Gaming Mouse Pad Medium. Its cheap and makes your clicking way more precise than just using the table. Just stick to the basics and dont worry about the fancy stuff yet.

I've tried many different skill combinations for claw builds over the years, and in my experience, the most effective secondary skill is Shadow Step. This is essential because it allows you to reposition instantly behind targets, which significantly increases your damage output during the Openclaw animation. It keeps you mobile while you're shredding through mobs. Another solid choice is Iron Skin. It provides a massive defense boost for when you're caught in the middle of a pack and just focused on clicking. Since you mentioned playing on an old laptop, you might deal with some stuttering when things get hectic. I'd recommend getting a Cooler Master NotePal X3 Laptop Cooling Pad to prevent thermal throttling. Over the years, I've found that keeping the hardware cool is just as important as your skill tree for maintaining high-speed attack combos without dropping frames.
