so i built this little ai chatbot for my small plant nursery here in south london because i want to help people not kill their ferns lol. right now its running on my old laptop but its so slow and people have to wait like ten seconds for a reply which is basically an eternity online.

i have no clue about servers or which cloud thing to pick... i keep seeing stuff about aws and digital ocean but its all just gibberish to me. i only have about 20 bucks a month to spend on this and i really need it to be fast so people dont get bored and leave. what is the best cloud hosting for a complete beginner that wont lag? sorry if this is a really basic thing to ask im just totally lost...

Unfortunately, big platforms like AWS are a total headache for beginners and usually not as good as expected for the price. I've had issues with their lag in the past too. Honestly, just grab a DigitalOcean Droplet 1GB RAM 1 vCPU 25GB NVMe London. Its about 6 bucks and super snappy. Or try the Hetzner Cloud CPX11 2GB RAM 40GB SSD London which is actually great for UK traffic and well within your budget.

  • maybe check Vultr High Frequency Compute 1 vCPU 2GB RAM London
  • be careful with data overage costs
  • check vpsbenchmarks for speed tests first

In my experience Akamai Linode Shared 2GB RAM London is the most reliable path for small projects. It is 12 dollars a month and the London nodes are very snappy. If managing a server feels too complex tho, Railway Hobby Plan is basically perfect. It automates everything so you dont have to learn linux. Fits your 20 dollar budget and kills the lag.
