Is there any good AI tools for 3d rendering?

I'm looking for recommendations on good AI tools for 3D rendering. Are there any that stand out for their features, ease of use, or quality of output? I'm particularly interested in tools that can handle text-to-3D or image-to-3D generation. Any insights or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated!

^ This. Also, I have been feeling pretty let down by the state of things lately. Honestly, I had high hopes but most of it is just not as good as expected, especially when it comes to text-to-3D. The mesh quality usually ends up being a mess that takes way longer to fix than just modeling it yourself. Quick question tho, what are you actually trying to build? Are you looking for background props or main characters? Knowing that would help a lot before giving more advice. If you just want some general tools to look at:

  • Go with Adobe, you basically cant go wrong with their newer 3D integrations
  • Look into anything from Nvidia and see what their research labs are doing
  • Check out the tools from Spline if you want something a bit easier to grasp Let me know what you are aiming for and I can try to help more. Its a bit of a DIY headache right now but we can figure it out...

Building on the earlier suggestion, unfortunately the state of these tools is pretty disappointing right now. Ive been doing 3D work for years and I keep hitting walls with stuff like CSM or Kaedim. They just arent as good as expected and the topology is usually garbage compared to what a real artist can do. Its frustrating to see so much hype for stuff that barely works in a professional pipeline without hours of cleanup. What are you actually trying to produce? Are you looking for high-poly cinematic assets or just simple background shapes for a hobby project?

Stumbled on this thread and got super stoked because I literally spent my whole weekend messing with new workflows. I was trying to build out a fantasy tavern scene for a personal project and the progress in just the last few months is insane! Before I geek out on the specs though, what exactly are you aiming for? Like are we talking low-poly assets for a mobile game or high-fidelity stuff for a cinematic? If you want the best bang for your buck right now, you gotta check out Meshy AI Pro Plan. I think its like 16 bucks a month if you go annual. It handles text-to-3d and even image-to-3d with surprisingly clean topology... way better than the messy blobs we used to get. Another fantastic one for quick experiments is Luma AI Genie which you can use in Discord for free. I used it to generate a dozen different potion bottles in minutes and the mesh quality was honestly amazing for a free tool. Ngl the texturing on Meshy feels more professional tho if you need to actually use the models in a real engine.

Just saw this thread and wanted to jump in. I have been down this rabbit hole for months now, mostly trying to find something that doesnt just output a mess of triangles that takes forever to fix. Its definitely exciting but reliability is such a hit or miss right now tbh. In my experience, most of these tools still need a fair bit of manual cleanup if you want them to look professional or be usable in a real pipeline. Before you dive too deep into specific tools though, are you looking for something that generates a final asset you can just drop into a scene, or are you okay with doing a lot of manual retopology? Also, whats the end goal—is this for a game engine or more for high-res offline rendering? Knowing your budget would help too since some of the better ones get pricey quick.
