Im honestly just so fed up with the stuff Ive been finding lately for my 9-year-old daughter. Everything that claims to be AI for kids is either way too complicated for an elementary schooler or its literally just a generic wrapper for ChatGPT that has zero safety filters and its driving me crazy. I tried one last week that cost $15 a month and it couldnt even explain simple multiplication without sounding like a college textbook. I just want something that actually works and doesnt feel like a total cash grab. My budget is super tight right now since we just moved to the suburbs and I'm already paying for her soccer and piano so Im looking for something under $10 a month or even free if thats even possible.

Here is what I actually need:

• simple interface that a 3rd or 4th grader can actually navigate alone without me hovering
• safe environment with actual guardrails so she doesnt see anything weird
• helps with creative writing or maybe basic math problems
• no ads or weird data tracking stuff

I am trying to get her ready for school projects this fall and everything Ive tried so far is just a total mess and honestly a waste of time. Does anyone know a tool that isnt just a marketing gimmick? I am ready to just give up on the whole AI thing for her but I know she probably needs to learn it eventually...
