I'm starting a niche blog on a super tight budget. Jasper and Copy.ai look great, but they're way too pricey for me right now. Are there any reliable AI tools with generous free tiers or subscriptions under $15? I need something that handles long-form posts well. What’s the most budget-friendly writing tool you’ve actually used?

For ur situation, here are a couple cheap ones I liked:
- Simplified AI Writer — They have a solid free tier and the paid plan is like $11.
- KoalaWriter — This is GREAT for long-form. The basic plan is $9/mo which is a total steal compared to Jasper.

Honestly, it's kinda hard finding quality long-form for cheap, but these are lowkey the best options I’ve used. gl!

TL;DR: Use Claude.ai or Rytr Saver Plan.

For your situation, AI writing makes blogging way easier but it's basically a full-time job without help. Unfortunately, those big tools are highkey overpriced for us beginners, which kinda sucks. i was disappointed cuz cheap ones weren't as good as expected... until i found Claude.ai. i think its free tier is literally better for long posts, and if you need more, Rytr Saver Plan is under $10. gl! tried any yet??

> Jasper and Copy.ai look great, but they're way too pricey for me right now. In my experience, ive tried many of these platforms over the years and the market changes so fast that prices are always shifting. Before I can really give you a methodical breakdown of the brands, what niche are you actually writing in? Some tools handle technical documentation way better than lifestyle stuff, so that makes a huge difference in the actual value you get per dollar. Honestly, you should just check out YouTube for this. There is a really detailed video comparing about 20 different budget brands that I saw recently. If you search something like best cheap ai writing tools 2024 or look for the latest tier lists on YouTube, it will give you a way better visual comparison than I can here. It covers all the hidden costs and token limits too. Just search it and it should be the first result.

Ngl I was in the same boat last year trying to scale my hobby site without breaking the bank. Like someone mentioned, those monthly fees add up way too fast. I was pretty frustrated until I went the DIY route. Tbh I'm super satisfied with using TypingMind Desktop App combined with an Anthropic Claude 3.5 Sonnet API key. It's way cheaper than a big subscription because you only pay for the tokens you actually use. Last month I wrote like 10 long-form posts and it cost me less than a latte. So far the thread has covered some solid picks:

  • Claude.ai for the generous free tier
  • KoalaWriter for budget-friendly long-form
  • API setups for maximum control Quick tip:
  • Prompt for one section at a time instead of the whole post at once to keep quality high.
  • Use a style guide in your system instructions so it doesnt sound like a robot. Going the API route works well for me and keeps my monthly spend way below that $15 limit.

I have been searching for this exact solution for about two months now and it is honestly quite frustrating. I am trying to establish a new blog on a limited budget but the pricing for most AI writing platforms is very high for beginners.

  • word limits on free plans are often too restrictive for long-form content
  • output quality tends to suffer significantly on lower-cost tiers
  • there is a noticeable lack of options in the $10 to $15 price range I still have not found a reliable tool that balances performance with an affordable subscription. It seems difficult to find a platform that handles long articles well without a premium price tag.
