i am totally overwhelmed trying to edit my sisters wedding video for next month. i thought ai was supposed to do the hard work but premiere just looks like a cockpit and i cant figure it out.

my logic was to find a cheap pro tool but is that even a thing? what should i actually be using...

To add to the point above: Id skip free apps for weddings. Stability is key tho.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 2024 is way safer.
  • Wondershare Filmora 13 AI Video Editor has better automated tools.

Stumbled on this discussion while looking for some AI plugins... dont panic!! Editing a wedding is a massive job but you can definitely pull it off without the Premiere headache. Since you want cheap but pro, you gotta look at Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve 19 Studio if you can swing the one-time fee, but the free version is honestly enough for most people. Their AI-powered Voice Isolation is a total lifesaver if the wind ruined the audio during the ceremony. Check these out too:

  • Descript AI Video Editor Creator Plan lets you edit by just deleting words in the transcript. Seriously, its the fastest way to cut down the speeches.
  • Runway Gen-3 Alpha AI Toolset is fantastic for removing that one person who walked into the frame at the wrong time. If you feel totally stuck, maybe just do the main cut yourself and find a pro on Upwork Video Editing Professional to do a final polish. Itll save your sanity!

Like someone mentioned, simplify your workflow!!

  • Go with Blackmagic for amazing color tools.
  • Try anything from Topaz for sharpening clips. Seriously, youll love their fantastic AI for wedding footage!

@Reply #8 - good point! Jumping in here because one thing nobody mentioned is how much these AI tools can absolutely kill your computer if you arent careful lol. If you're struggling with the Premiere cockpit, your laptop might also be screaming for help... definitely check out Descript Creator Plan before you give up. It’s honestly fantastic because it works like a text editor, so you dont have to stare at confusing timelines all day. Super easy for editing the wedding speeches! If you're worried about your hardware lagging, LumaTouch LumaFusion for iPad is way more optimized than the heavy desktop apps and still feels pro. It handles 4K footage like a dream on even basic tablets. Also, check out Veed.io Pro Subscription if you want to do everything in a browser. It saves your computer from doing the heavy lifting since the processing happens on their servers. Seriously, it's a total lifesaver when youre on a deadline and dont have a NASA supercomputer to render everything!

Honestly forget Premiere for now if you are stressed!! I used ByteDance CapCut Desktop Editor for my cousins party and it is literally amazing for beginners. It has these AI auto-captions and simple magic tools that save so much time. Plus its basically free. Just drag your clips in and let the AI do the heavy lifting, seriously you will love it!

@Reply #4 - good point! i was in your shoes recently and felt totally defeated. cheaper pro tools are definitely a thing tho, but the market is split between legacy brands and newer automated ones. the heavy-duty software i tried first was just overkill... eventually, a web-based tool provided a decent middle ground. it wasnt perfect but it got the job done. youll find a rhythm soon!
