I start a new role in literally three weeks and need to learn ML basics fast. Stuck between the Andrew Ng Coursera cert and DataCamp. My budget is strictly $50 total for the month.
Which one is actually better for someone starting from zero? Or maybe Udemy is faster...
In my experience, jumping into random courses is risky. I tried that years ago and had to unlearn half of it because the content was messy. Go with DeepLearning.AI Machine Learning Specialization Andrew Ng Stanford instead. It is the gold standard for reliability.
Re: "In my experience, jumping into random courses is..." - totally agree. Ive seen so many people waste months on messy content that doesnt actually teach the foundations. Since you are on a tight three-week deadline, you need something that just works without the fluff. In my experience, DataCamp Machine Learning Scientist with Python Career Track is the way to go if you want to avoid technical headaches. The best part is you dont have to install anything locally which saves a ton of time. It is basically a sandbox where you can just practice. If you prefer a one-time purchase, I have found Udemy Jose Portilla Python for Data Science and Machine Learning Bootcamp Course to be very reliable and easy to digest for total beginners. It usually costs under $20 if you catch a sale. DataCamp is better for speed tho because of the interactive coding. Stick to the basics first and dont get bogged down in the heavy math or you wont finish in time.
