Are there any actually free ChatGPT plugins for data analysis that arent just trial versions or bait-and-switch?
Im seriously fed up with these tools that claim to be free but then lock everything behind a paywall the second I try to upload my CSV file. Im a student in London and I have a huge marketing project due by Friday and I really dont have the budget for a Plus subscription right now. I just need something that can handle basic trends and visualizations without me having to manually clean every single row in Excel because that is taking forever and im losing my mind. Is there anything legit out there or am I just wasting my time looking?...

Honestly, I've tried many 'free' tools over the years and most plugins are gated behind the Plus sub anyway. Since you're a student, here's the move tho:
- Use the free daily quota for data analysis inside ChatGPT directly. It handles CSVs for free now.
- Use Google Colab Cloud-based Python Environment. Just ask the AI to write the code and run it there. No row limits and its totally free...

In my experience, most plugins are a trap lately. Use these instead:
- Google NotebookLM AI Research Tool is honestly magic for spotting patterns across docs without paying a cent.
- Anthropic Claude 3.5 Sonnet AI Model with Artifacts is amazing for visualizations. It just builds the charts right there.
- Microsoft Power BI Desktop Personal Edition is a beast for serious data, tho its way harder to learn.

Regarding what #3 said about "In my experience, most plugins are a trap..." – yeah, honestly felt that. I was in the exact same spot a few months ago trying to crunch some census data for a side gig. Every single plugin I tried was basically just a fancy ad for a subscription I couldnt afford. Its so draining to spend an hour cleaning data only to hit a "pay to see results" wall... literally the worst feeling. I remember staying up until 3am once just trying to bypass a 'free' limit that didnt actually exist. If you're tired of the paywalls, my quick tip is just to run stuff locally. I started using Python 3.12 with Pandas Library for everything. If you dont want to code, LibreOffice Calc 7.6 is a legit open-source beast that wont ask for a sub. Just get the AI to write the cleaning scripts for you and run them yourself. No more bait-and-switch nonsense.

@Reply #2 - good point! honestly I am in the exact same boat right now. I have been struggling with these annoying paywall traps while trying to manage my own high-volume 100k row datasets for weeks! It is so exhausting when you just need to process a simple file. I usually just stick with Microsoft because anything from that brand is gonna be fantastic and more reliable for students!
