I’ve been using ChatGPT daily, but constantly switching tabs is slowing me down. I'm looking for extensions that offer features like prompt templates or a sidebar for easier access while I'm researching. Does anyone have favorites that actually save time without being too buggy? Which ones are currently essential for your productivity workflow?

Late to the party but I gotta share my experience here cuz I've been down this rabbit hole for like 2 years now lol. Back when I started, I was literally installing every extension I saw, but honestly... my browser started crawling and I got highkey worried about my data. I'm still kinda new to the technical side of things, but I tried Compose AI Chrome Extension for writing without the constant tab switching. It was okay, but I realized I was spending way too much time fiddling with settings instead of actually working!

Being budget-conscious, I also tried ChatGPT Sidebar & File Summarizer which was pretty decent for research. But the lesson I learned? Most of these tools have hidden costs or really tight daily limits. I eventually just made a simple "prompt library" in a free doc because some of those template extensions felt kinda bloated and kept asking for upgrades... make sure to check those permissions too, I'm always a bit paranoid about what they can see on other tabs!! anyway, gl finding ur flow. peace

So I totally agree with the point about browser bloat and data privacy. Honestly, I’ve seen so many extensions come and go, and half of them just end up being buggy mess that slows down your workflow more than helping it. If you're looking for stability and a reliability-first approach, here are a few I've stuck with after testing basically everything: - Merlin AI: This is probably the most polished sidebar out there. It’s super snappy and handles the tab-switching issue perfectly without crashing your browser every ten minutes. - Superpower ChatGPT: For organization, this is the gold standard. It adds folders, search, and even a local sync for your chats. It’s been updated consistently for a long time, which is a big green flag for reliability. - WebChatGPT: If you need real-time data integration that doesn't feel clunky, this is a solid choice. It's been around forever and is way more customizable than the default web browsing mode. My advice? Stick to extensions with high update frequencies. If a dev hasn't touched the code in 3+ months, it's usually a skip. Keeping it lean is key to staying productive.

Yo, i feel u... I saw this and had to jump in because tab fatigue is REAL. I used to struggle until I switched to MaxAI.me for a sidebar—it's seriously amazing!! Also, AIPRM for ChatGPT is basically the gold standard for templates. Technically, just watch those permissions tho... some extensions are total bloatware. These ones are legit and fast! gl!
