Best open-source UI for interacting with DeepSeek v4 Flash models?

I’m in a huge rush because I’ve got this client project due tomorrow morning and I really need to get a solid UI running for the DeepSeek v4 Flash model. I’m basically trying to build out a quick prototyping tool for a local dev shop I'm helping and the speed of the flash model is exactly what I need but I can’t find a clean way to host the UI part.

I spent like three hours looking into Open WebUI because everyone on Reddit says its the best thing ever but the documentation for the new v4 flash endpoints is super confusing to me right now and I cant tell if I need a specific docker image or if it even supports the latest flash architecture natively yet. Then I saw some people talking about LibreChat which looks cool but it seems like a total pain to set up if you arent a devops pro and I just dont have the time tonight. I just need something that looks decent and lets me swap models fast without breaking everything. Im on Windows 11 with a 3080 so I can run stuff locally or connect to an API but I prefer a local UI that can just plug into the DeepSeek API key for now. Does anyone actually have this v4 Flash model running in a nice open source interface right now? What are you guys using that doesnt take forever to configure?

Like someone mentioned, those complex setups are a total time sink. Gotta disagree on NextChat tho—I’m super happy with Jan AI Desktop App v0.5.5 lately. It’s way faster to get running on Windows 11.

  • Use the manual OpenAI provider setting for the DeepSeek API key.
  • Switching models is way smoother than web-based stuff. Ngl, it’s basically the most stable option for your 3080 without messing with Docker.

Building on the earlier suggestion, I'm very satisfied with NextChat ChatGPT-Next-Web Open Source UI for zero-cost prototyping.

  • Low JSON overhead
  • Minimal latency Flash models run perfectly via the API.

I totally get being in a rush and not wanting to break your system. Honestly, I am pretty cautious about installing heavy stuff like Docker because I dont want to mess up my Windows 11 setup or have weird background processes slowing down my GPU. I have been using AnythingLLM Desktop Version 1.5.0 for a while now and I am really happy with it. It is super straightforward and does not require any devops knowledge at all which was a huge relief for me. It works perfectly with my DeepSeek API key and I havent had a single issue with it crashing or being buggy. Here is why I think it is your best bet tonight:

  • You just download the exe and it installs like any normal program.
  • The settings menu is very clean and easy to navigate for model selection.
  • It lets you swap between different models instantly without needing to restart anything.
  • You can just plug in the DeepSeek base URL and your key and it picks up the models right away. I use it on my own machine and it is very stable. I am satisfied because it just does what it says on the box without making me jump through hoops. If you want something that feels safe and reliable without the headache of LibreChat or Open WebUI, this is definitely the way to go. It has been very solid for my prototyping needs and it should run great with your 3080 setup.
