^ This. Also, you should definitely check out Roo Code VS Code Extension Open Source for your project! It is absolutely fantastic for maximizing DeepSeek V4 Pro performance while keeping costs minimal.

  • Open-source architecture
  • Agentic workflow support
  • High-token efficiency It is easily the most budget-friendly way to get pro-level coding help without a $20 monthly sub! The latency is amazing too. Love it!

To add to the point above, those are solid picks but since youre just starting your coding journey for your cats site, you might like something with a bit more hand-holding. I honestly think you should look at these too:

  • Double.bot VS Code AI Copilot Extension is really nice because it feels more like a built-in feature than a complex addon. It handles DeepSeek integration beautifully for beginners who dont want to mess with config files.
  • Cline VS Code Extension Agentic Open Source is another heavy hitter. It can actually create files and folders for you which is huge when you arent sure where to even start. Practical tip: keep a close watch on your usage tokens in the DeepSeek dashboard. It is way cheaper than other models, but agentic tools like Cline can burn through them if they loop. Cant wait to see the cat site tho!

I'm happy with Continue VS Code Extension Open Source. It works well and feels safe:

  • easy setup
  • reliable connection I used it for my cat blog and had no complaints...
