sorry if this is a dumb question but im so confused with all these bots! im super excited to start my senior thesis but i have like fifty 30-page papers to read by friday and i need help summarizing them fast.
any ideas?...
stick with Anthropic Claude 3.5 Sonnet Free Tier for those. its reliably accurate with long contexts and way safer than most random tools out there, tbh.
i remember back when i was doing my masters, i used to print everything out and use different colored highlighters. it took forever and my desk was a mess honestly. for free stuff now, ive had good luck using Perplexity AI Free Version for quick summaries. the trick is to upload your PDF and ask it to pull specific methodologies and conclusions so you dont get fluff. it uses several models under the hood and its decent at scanning long docs without hitting a wall too fast. just a heads up tho, most free tiers limit how many files you can dump in per day. if you run out of juice, i sometimes switch to Microsoft Copilot Free using the side panel in the edge browser. its solid for long research papers because it can read the active tab. it saved me a ton of time last year when i was drowning in source material... just double check the citations because even the best bots get a bit creative sometimes.
What subject are you studying? Unfortunately most free bots fail on long context. I had issues with accuracy lately, but maybe try Google NotebookLM since its built for research.
ugh i saw this today and honestly same... im also drowning in research papers for my final project and its been a nightmare trying to find anything that actually works. i keep worrying about privacy or getting fake info back so i havent even started yet.
