I just started trying to make videos for my sisters birthday next week but honestly I have no idea where to start and everything looks so complicated. I tried opening Premiere and almost had a panic attack lol. I keep hearing about AI making things way easier for people who dont know what they are doing like me. I have about 30 bucks to spend if I have to but free is obviously better.
My laptop is kinda old too so it cant handle anything too crazy. Does anyone know what the best AI tools are for someone who is a total beginner? I just need to cut out the silences and maybe add some captions without it taking me ten hours...
Premiere is a total beast, so dont feel bad about the panic attack. Honestly, most pros still get annoyed with it sometimes. Since your laptop is on the older side, you definitely want to stay away from heavy desktop software. Itll just freeze and make you want to throw the computer out a window. Stick to browser-based tools that handle the processing on their servers instead of your local hardware. I use these web tools all the time for quick edits. They are great for cutting silences automatically, which saves so much clicking. Just a heads up though, be careful with those free trials. Some of them let you do the whole project and then hit you with a massive watermark or a subscription fee right when you click export. Always check the export limits first. Also, double-check any AI captions. They usually struggle with names or if someone mumbles, so youll still need to do a quick pass to fix typos. It wont take ten hours though, probably more like twenty minutes. If you get stuck with the settings, let me know.
