im trying to get this side project off the ground its a blog about hiking spots in the pacific northwest and im looking to launch the whole thing by early june so im in a bit of a rush. i spent all last night looking at different ai suites and honestly my head is spinning a bit lol. so i was thinking about just grabbing chatgpt plus because everyone uses it but then i read some threads saying jasper or copy.ai are better if you actually want stuff that doesnt sound like a robot wrote it. my logic was that i should probably invest in something that handles the formatting for me since im working a 9-5 and dont have much free time but some people say those tools are just wrappers and a waste of money now. i have a budget of maybe 60 bucks a month for tools so i cant subscribe to everything. also what are people using for images these days? is midjourney still the go-to or has dall-e 3 gotten good enough to not bother with the discord interface? i just want a solid workflow where i can generate a decent draft and a header image without spending five hours tweaking prompts... what are you guys actually using day to day in 2024?
Saw your post and honestly I have been pretty disappointed with the all-in-one suites lately. I tried using Jasper for a project and it just felt like a massive markup for a UI that didnt even save me much time. Total letdown for the price. Before I can really give a solid workflow recommendation tho, what CMS are you actually using? Is this a WordPress site or are you on something like Ghost? If you want to stay under that 60 dollar budget, your best bet is probably OpenAI ChatGPT Plus Monthly Subscription combined with Midjourney Basic Plan Monthly. Midjourney is still way better for those moody PNW mountain shots, even though the Discord interface is a total pain. DALL-E 3 is convenient but the images look way too plastic for a real blog. I actually prefer Anthropic Claude 3.5 Sonnet Pro for writing these days because it sounds less robotic, but unfortunately you lose the integrated image gen.
> my logic was that i should probably invest in something that handles formatting Quick reply while I have a sec. I'd suggest being careful with those suites tho since formatting can be a mess when you export. Are you looking for something that plugs into your site to auto-post, or do you just need help with drafting? Also, do you need it to handle SEO too? Just dont want you wasting money...
