What are the best AI tools for professional video editing?

I am honestly spinning out a bit right now because I took on this big contract for a high-end real estate firm in Chicago and the deadline is super tight like ten days away. I need to churn out like five high-quality videos and my usual workflow is just too slow. I did some digging and saw everyone talking about Runway and Descript but I'm just so confused on if they actually hold up for professional stuff.

My logic was that I could use Runway for the rotoscoping and maybe some generative fill to clean up the backgrounds but then I read some forum posts saying the export quality can be hit or miss for 4K delivery. Like is it actually reliable? And then Descript looks amazing for cutting the interviews by just deleting text but I'm worried it's gonna mess up my pacing or the audio transitions will sound choppy. I don't want the client to think I'm getting lazy.

I have about $60 to spend on subscriptions this month so I cant just buy everything to test it out. I usually use Premiere Pro and I know they have the Sensei stuff now but it feels kinda behind compared to these standalone startups. Should I just stick to what I know and pull an all nighter or is there a specific AI tool that actually saves time without making the footage look like a deepfake mess... I'm really worried about the flickering issues I keep seeing in AI demos.

TL;DR: Use Descript Creator Plan for your interview assembly and then finish the 4K delivery using Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 AI Features to keep things stable. I have been editing professionally for years and I am honestly very satisfied with how these tools have streamlined my process lately. For your interview segments, Descript Creator Plan is a lifesaver. It works well because you can just edit the transcript and the video follows. I dont find it makes the pacing choppy at all if you use the "Remove Filler Words" tool sparingly. It saves me hours of manual scrubbing and I have no complaints about the final audio quality once you toggle the "Studio Sound" setting. Regarding the real estate footage, I would be careful with Runway for 4K exports if you are worried about flickering. I am perfectly happy sticking with the built-in Adobe Premiere Pro 2024 AI Features for stuff like rotoscoping and scene detection. It is much more reliable for high-end delivery and you wont have to worry about the export resolution being hit or miss. Standalone tools are flashy but keeping it in the NLE for the final render is safer for big contracts. Quick tip: Do your heavy lifting in Descript first, then export the XML into Premiere for the final color grade and B-roll placement. It is the fastest way to finish five videos in ten days without losing your mind... and the $15 subscription is basically the best money you will spend this month.

In my experience, web-based tools like Runway often fail on the sub-pixel level during 4K exports. Years ago, a nightmare masking a glass staircase for a client almost cost me a contract. Switching to Boris FX Mocha Pro 2024 saved that project.

  • Planar tracking handles perspective shifts better than AI generative fill.
  • Advanced x-splines prevent the flickering you see in web exports. It costs roughly $37 a month, which fits your budget perfectly.

Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to rethink my approach now.

Look, you need to be careful with those web tools for 4K delivery. If flickering is your main worry, look into anything by Topaz Labs instead of the generative stuff. It is way more reliable for professional work. Honestly, I wouldnt trust a web startup with a high-end contract. Just use a dedicated tool from Topaz to fix quality issues and keep your workflow simple.
