Im seriously losing my mind here. Ive been trying to edit these clips for my small business social media account and honestly Premiere Pro is just killing me lately. It keeps crashing every time I try to do anything slightly complex and I swear my laptop sounds like a jet engine taking off. I dont have the budget for a super expensive upgrade right now and I have a deadline for a new video campaign in like three days. I just dont have the time to sit through hours of manual color correction or tedious transcriptions anymore. Is there anything out there that actually uses AI to speed up the cutting process or at least handle the boring stuff for me? Ive heard people talking about Descript or maybe CapCut but Im not sure if they are just gimmicks or if they actually save time for a real workflow. If you guys know of anything that wont break the bank but can handle basic edits without making me want to throw my computer out the window let me know because I am reaching my limit here...

Man, I feel your pain. Adobe turning your laptop into a space heater is the absolute worst. If you are on a time crunch and need to ditch the lag, you seriously gotta check out some lighter software that actually uses AI to do the heavy lifting for you. Since you are worried about the budget, these are honestly life-savers.
- DaVinci Resolve 19 Studio is basically the gold standard now. Their Magic Mask tool is unreal for color grading, and it handles way better than Premiere on older hardware.
- Wondershare Filmora 13 is super intuitive. It has an AI Copilot editor that can literally suggest changes for you, and the auto-beat sync is fantastic for social media stuff.
- Adobe Express is surprisingly good if you want something web-based that doesn't eat your RAM. It's perfect for quick templates when you're in a hurry. I personally love using a dedicated editing interface like the Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor because it makes scrubbing through footage so much faster than clicking around with a mouse. Seriously, stop fighting with your current setup and just try the free version of DaVinci. It will save you hours of frustration before your campaign deadline. You got this, dont let the tech stress you out too much!

^ This. Also, check out Topaz Video AI 5.0 for quick upscaling and motion smoothing. It honestly saves so much time when your footage is looking a bit rough!

Premiere is a resource hog. If you need speed, try these:
- Descript Pro Subscription for text-based editing, which is a lifesaver for cutting filler words.
- CapCut Desktop Version which uses AI for auto-captions and background removal. They run much lighter than Adobe's suite. Honestly, for a three-day deadline, Descript is your best bet to finish the transcriptions and cuts fast without the constant crashing.
