Ive been using Premiere for like a decade, but this new project requires a massive amount of automated subtitling and b-roll inserts on a super tight two-day deadline. Honestly, my current workflow is just way too slow and Im lowkey freaking out. Are there any actual solid AI tools that can handle this without being a total nightmare?

Regarding what #2 said about using built-in features, sometimes you just need external power to hit those deadlines. If you are doing tons of b-roll, look into Runway Gen-2 AI Video Generator for quick inserts. It is pretty decent for generative background clips when you are in a pinch. For the audio-to-text side, OpenAI Whisper Large V3 is basically the gold standard for accuracy if you have a local machine to run it, or just use Submagic AI Pro Plan for the flashy captions clients usually want.
- Use Runway for procedural generation if you dont have time to film.
- Run Whisper locally to avoid cloud bottlenecks.

Honestly, stick to Premiere for the heavy lifting but get the plugins. I tried a few standalone AI editors recently and they were total trash, unfortunately. Super buggy and the export quality is consistently mediocre, definitely not worth the headache for a client project. For subtitling specifically, skip the native tools and just use Descript Pro Subscription AI-powered Transcription. It is honestly the only thing that works reliably enough to save you time. You can just dump your video in, get the text, edit the transcript to cut the footage, and export an XML back into your main timeline. It saves me like 80% of the manual labor. For the b-roll, dont trust the automated generators too much. They always look like stock footage hell. I usually use Runway Gen-2 AI Video Generation to generate specific textures or background elements if I absolutely have to, but honestly, you are better off just using a stock site if the deadline is only two days. Dont try to overcomplicate the pipeline when you're already stressed. Just get the text done fast and keep your editing workflow as close to what you already know as possible.
