What are the absolute safest AI tools for elementary school kids right now because I need something by Monday for my daughters science fair project? Ive been using ChatGPT and Midjourney for my work for ages so Im not a total noob with LLMs but I just realized how much weird stuff comes up when she tries to ask simple questions about space.
Im looking for stuff that has really tight guardrails and maybe doesnt require a full account because Im paranoid about her data being scraped. I can spend maybe 20 bucks a month but I just havent found a kid-safe layer that actually works well without it being too restrictive or just plain dumb...
I definitely agree with the wrapper approach, it makes a huge difference. I've been really happy with Khan Academy Khanmigo AI Tutor for my kids science homework. It works well because it uses a Socratic method instead of just spitting out weird results like raw LLMs sometimes do. The safety filters are top notch and since its education-focused, you dont have to worry as much about the data scraping side.
Ive been really satisfied with Mizu AI Kids Safe Chatbot lately. It works well since it uses a COPPA-compliant wrapper to prevent data scraping. No complaints about the guardrails either... it handles space questions way better than a raw LLM. Honestly, just try Curio AI Educational Search Tool for research too. It is super direct and wont give her weird results.
Wait really?? Thats actually super helpful. I always thought it was the other way around.
