Im literally drowning in footage right now and my deadline for this mini-doc series is this Friday so I am freaking out a little bit. Im based in Berlin and working for a local agency that expects high-end polish but they dumped like 20 hours of raw interview and b-roll on my lap yesterday and expect a fast turnaround. Ive been doing some digging online and everyone keeps mentioning Runway or Descript for AI stuff. I played with Descript for a minute but it feels way too basic for the kind of color grading and precision I need to do and Runway looks cool for making weird new clips but I need stuff that helps with the actual heavy lifting of the edit. I need something for auto-cutting or smart b-roll placement or even high-end noise removal that doesnt sound like a robot. Ive got about 500 bucks in my budget to spend on some new plugins or standalone software if it actually works and saves me from pulling three all-nighters in a row. Is there anything out there that actually lives up to the hype for professional workflows? Most of what I find seems like its for TikTok creators and not for someone using Premiere or Resolve. What are the actual top AI tools for professional video editing that wont just crash my rig or give me cheesy results?

TL;DR: Skip the flashy web apps. For a professional doc workflow under $500, grab Topaz Video AI 4 for sharpening b-roll and Waves Clarity Vx Pro for your interview audio. I have been in the trenches for years and seen plenty of tools promise the moon and fail. Since you are in Premiere, you should definitely check out FireCut for Premiere Pro. It is great for those 20-hour interview dumps because it handles silence removal and rough cuts way better than doing it manually. For the noise removal you mentioned, Clarity Vx is literally magic for audio; it is way more natural than the basic AI stuff. For video noise, Topaz is the industry standard for a reason. These are one-time buys or affordable subs that wont eat your whole budget. Stick with plugins that live inside your timeline so you dont waste time exporting back and forth. You can totally pull this off by Friday.
