What is the best app for learning about artificial intelligence?

Hey everyone! I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed lately with the sheer speed at which artificial intelligence is evolving. It seems like every day there's a new model or a groundbreaking tool being released, and while I’m fascinated by it, I realized my actual understanding of the "how" behind AI is pretty surface-level. I really want to change that and move beyond just using ChatGPT for simple tasks.

Since I spend a decent amount of time commuting on the bus—about 45 minutes each way—I’m looking for a mobile app that can help me learn the fundamentals of AI on the go. I’ve tried a few YouTube playlists, but I find it hard to stay focused when I can’t interact with the content or practice what I'm seeing. I’m really looking for something structured and interactive that keeps me engaged.

Specifically, I’m hoping to find an app that covers a few key areas: first, the basics of machine learning (like supervised vs. unsupervised learning); second, maybe some interactive visualizations of how neural networks actually function; and third, some light coding or logic exercises, maybe in Python, that I can do right on my phone. I’m not necessarily looking for a full-blown university degree in my pocket, but I’d love something more substantial than just a news aggregator or a collection of articles.

I’ve looked into things like Sololearn or Mimo for coding, but I’m wondering if there is an app that is more focused specifically on the AI and Data Science track. I don't mind paying for a subscription if the quality is high and the curriculum is actually up-to-date with current trends like Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI.

Has anyone here found an app that truly stands out for teaching AI concepts to a beginner or intermediate learner? I’m really eager to find a way to turn my "dead time" during my commute into a proper learning session. What would you recommend for someone who wants a mix of theory and practical exercises?

Conceptual logic is foundational. Over the years, I've found Brilliant.org Premium Subscription offers the best value; it’s highkey the most interactive way to learn neural networks on ur phone.

I would suggest checking out DataCamp: Learn Data Science. I've been using it for my own commute lately and I'm really satisfied with how it handles the basics like supervised learning and neural networks. It basically lets you practice Python coding right on your phone screen, which is highkey better than just zoning out to videos.

Since I'm still a beginner, I was a bit cautious about the subscription cost at first. Tbh, I recommend trying their free daily lessons first just to be safe and make sure the interactive style actually works for you before committing. It’s been a reliable way for me to learn the "how" behind AI without feeling totally overwhelmed. No complaints so far, it works well and keeps things structured. Just keep an eye on your surroundings so you dont miss your bus stop lol! gl! 👍

Honestly, I've been doing this for years and I still get so frustrated with how many apps are just walls of text or videos. It's a total slog. My current setup works well, but finding stuff that isn't just passive is a nightmare. Totally agree on the interaction part... if I'm not actually doing something, I'm not learning.

Yo, just saw this thread! Ngl, I've had a different experience with the app mentioned above. It's alright for some, but unfortunately, the mobile interface felt super clunky when trying to type Python on a small screen... pretty frustrating imo. If you really wanna understand the "how" behind neural networks, I think you need something more visual. Respectfully, I'd consider these options instead:
* Brilliant.org Annual Subscription - Highkey the best for interactive visualizations. It explains ML concepts like supervised learning through puzzles, so it's perfect for a 45-min commute.
* Enki: Learn Data Science & AI - This one is better structured for daily streaks and covers LLMs and generative AI way more effectively than Mimo or Sololearn. Just a heads up, mobile coding is always kinda mid compared to a laptop, but for wrapping your head around the logic? These are much more solid. Good luck!
