im looking for something to help with my etsy sticker shop designs but my budget is strictly under 20 a month. i read midjourney is best but that 30 dollar price tag is steep and bing is getting really weird with the filters lately. are there any other generators that offer better value for money right now?

Unfortunately, Midjourneys pricing is prohibitive for small shops. I have had issues with Bing being overly restrictive lately as well. If you need quality under 20 dollars, consider these:

  • Leonardo.ai Artisan Plan offers 8,500 tokens and superior fine-tuning for specific sticker aesthetics.
  • Ideogram 2.0 Basic Plan handles typography well, tho its daily limit is disappointing. Leonardo is basically the most cost-effective solution right now.

In my experience, Adobe Firefly Premium 100 Generative Credits is your best bet for peace of mind. I've seen a lot of tools come and go over the years, but Adobe is actually solid for commercial stuff since they train on licensed images. It's only around five bucks a month. Totally worth it. Definitely helpful if you wanna avoid copyright headaches later on tho...

Re: "Unfortunately, Midjourneys pricing is prohibitive for small shops...." - yeah, that price point is definitely a barrier when you are just trying to get a small business off the ground. tbh, if you have a decent PC, you might want to consider running Stable Diffusion XL 1.0 locally. It is free but be careful, the learning curve is pretty steep compared to Midjourney and you will need a solid GPU with at least 8GB of VRAM. If you prefer cloud-based tools, I would suggest checking these out:

  • Tensor.art Pro Plan is around 12 dollars a month and gives you access to a massive library of fine-tuned models specifically for stickers. I suggest sticking to the SDXL models for better detail.
  • SeaArt.ai VIP Membership is another cheap one, usually under 10 bucks. It uses a credit system but you get a lot of bang for your buck. Just make sure to double check the commercial usage rights on the specific models you use.
  • Playground AI Pro Plan is 15 dollars and really easy for beginners who dont want to mess with complicated settings. One thing tho... be really careful about copyright when selling stickers. Always check if the model license allows for commercial sales because some community-made ones on sites like Civitai have weird restrictions. I would definitely spend some time browsing Civitai anyway just to see what styles are possible before you drop any cash on a subscription. It is a goldmine for free resources and advice, but keep an eye on those license icons.

Ugh, I totally feel you on the Bing filters. Its been getting so frustrating lately... I spent hours trying to generate a simple vintage car sticker and it kept flagging it for no reason. Honestly, Ive had issues with most of the mainstream ones being too restrictive or just way too expensive for what they actually offer. They just werent as good as expected when I was trying to scale up my sticker designs. I ended up switching to some of the smaller cloud-based platforms because the reliability is just better for a workflow. These worked out way better for my shop:

  • Tensor.art Pro Subscription is about 12 bucks a month. It is super reliable because it basically lets you run any model you want without the technical headache of doing it yourself.
  • SeaArt.ai VIP Membership is another one I tried. It is usually under 15 dollars and they give you a ton of daily credits that actually let you get work done. Unfortunately, most people sleep on these because they arent Midjourney, but for a sticker shop, having that consistency is everything. Ngl, its nice not worrying about a filter blocking a generic prompt every five seconds.
