I started playing this new game over the weekend and I picked the Openclaw class because honestly the art looked amazing and I've always liked the idea of just using claw weapons instead of big swords or whatever. But now I'm like level 12 and I feel like I'm doing everything wrong lol. I keep looking at the skill tree and there are so many icons and numbers and I'm just sitting here staring at it for twenty minutes instead of actually playing. I'm a total newbie at these kinds of games so I really have no idea what scaling or procs even mean.
My situation is that I'm playing totally solo right now since most of my friends are playing FPS games and I'm more of a solo explorer type anyway. I usually only have about 45 minutes to an hour after I get home from my shift at the warehouse to get some gaming in before I'm too tired to see straight so I really want to make sure I'm being efficient. I don't want to spend my precious hour dying to random mobs because I picked a skill that's actually meant for groups. Right now I put some points into Feral Swipe but it feels kinda weak and I took Shadow Pounce because it sounded cool but I keep jumping into the middle of like five enemies and just getting wrecked immediately. Is there a specific path I should be following?
I've got like 500 gold saved up which I think is enough to reset my skills once if I messed up too bad but I'm scared to waste it. Should I be focusing on the skills that hit multiple enemies at once or should I just go for high damage on one guy? I feel like I'm missing something obvious here and I'm sorry if this is a really basic thing to ask but I'm just super lost with all these options... what should I actually be clicking on so I can level up without dying every five minutes?
I was dying constantly too till I switched tactics. Honestly, you should focus on skills that keep you alive rather than flashy jumps. Stacking passive defense works best when youre solo.
Building on the earlier suggestion, I'm honestly a bit disappointed with the efficiency of the defense-heavy route for level 12 soloing. It's way too slow for someone with only 45 minutes to play. Unfortunately, Feral Swipe has a really poor 1.2x scaling ratio until level 20, which is why it feels like you're hitting with wet noodles. Procs are basically just random chance effects, and they're too unreliable for solo grinding right now. Before I give you a full breakdown of the math tho, what are your attribute points looking like? Are you dumping into Agility or splitting with Strength? Efficiency comes from high burst to avoid getting swarmed. Try these:
