Are there AI tools that can help with presentation slide creation?

I’m honestly drowning in PowerPoint lately! Creating slides from scratch takes me forever, especially when it comes to layout and finding good visuals. Has anyone tried AI tools that actually build the deck or suggest designs? I need something that can handle technical content without looking messy. What are the best options for saving time while keeping things professional?

Honestly, I feel u... I've tried many tools over the years to escape the PowerPoint grind. For technical stuff that actually looks clean, I would suggest Gamma App Personal Pro Plan. It's literally a lifesaver cuz it builds the deck from a prompt or outline and keeps the layouts tight without being messy. Canva Pro is also great for visuals, tho it takes more manual work. Gamma App is faster for the price imo!

Seconding the recommendation above! Especially the bit about privacy with technical data... it's sooo scary thinking about where your info goes.

I'm still a beginner with this stuff but I've been comparing Canva Pro vs Plus AI for Google Slides. Basically, Canva is amazing for visuals and super cheap for what you get, but Plus AI is literally great for technical stuff cuz it works inside Google Slides where I feel safer. Honestly though, Plus AI can get pricey long-term!! lol

I totally agree with what was said about being careful with technical info. It is honestly pretty scary how much data we just hand over to these tools without thinking. I am still pretty new to using AI for this, but I have been sticking with Tome for a few months now. It is okay for creating a basic structure, though I always worry about where my notes actually end up. It uses a different kind of layout that is not exactly like traditional slides, which can be nice for technical stuff that needs to tell a story, but it takes some getting used to. If you are looking for something that feels a bit more solid for long term use, I have also looked into DeckRobot. It is meant to work right with your own files which feels a bit more reliable and safe to me than some of the newer web apps. I have noticed that with some of these tools, the designs look amazing at first, but then they start to feel a bit repetitive after a few months. Basically, I just want something that wont break my formatting when I have to update a chart or a technical diagram. Do you think it is better to pay for a yearly sub or just use free versions when you can? I am still trying to figure out if the professional plans are actually worth the extra cost for a beginner.

Just catching up here and man, I have the exact same problem. Mapping out system architectures or data flows usually kills my productivity because the layouts never behave. I feel like I spend more time on padding than actually writing documentation. If you are worried about the long-term viability and data privacy, you might want to consider sticking to the bigger players rather than the smaller startups. I would suggest:

  • Microsoft 365 Copilot Subscription
  • Slidebean Founder Edition
  • Ludus Pro Plan Make sure to check the terms of service on any new tool you try. Be careful with those free tiers because they often scrape your slides for training data... and for technical work, that is a huge red flag. I would stick to paid plans that offer a specific data processing agreement if you can afford it. It's usually worth the investment for the peace of mind alone... especially when you are dealing with proprietary specs.

Totally agree with the first reply, Gamma is amazing! But if ur like me and kinda worried about data privacy with technical stuff, maybe check out Beautiful.ai. It's realy cool because it uses Smart Slides that basically snap your content into professional layouts automatically. It's definitely a bit more "controlled" than other AI tools, so it keeps things looking clean and professional without going off the rails! gl!
