Hey all! I’m finally ready to start learning AI, but there are so many options out there. I'm looking for a beginner-friendly app that offers bite-sized lessons and interactive coding practice. Since I’m on the go, a great mobile interface is a must. Which app would you recommend for someone just starting out this year?

honestly, I've tried them all over the years. for a technical edge, Enki: Learn Code, Data, AI is actually my top pick for AI basics. it feels more like professional dev training than a game. If ur more into the math and logic behind AI models, Brilliant: Learn Science & Math is seriouslyyy good for mobile. Enki is better for coding, while Brilliant builds deep intuition. both work really well!

For your situation, I would suggest:

1. DataCamp: Learn Data Science: I've used this for three years and it's basically the gold standard for mobile. The coding interface works reallyyy well, but it's kinda pricey tbh.
2. Sololearn: Learn to Code: Best if ur looking for bite-sized lessons. Lowkey addictive... plus it's free-ish.

Both are great, but DataCamp feels more professional imo!! gl!

Quick reply while I have a sec... honestly, I've seen so many apps come and go over the years, and it's easy to waste money on subscriptions you don't actually use. Since you're looking for a practical and budget-friendly way to start, here is what I recommend after trying a bunch of these over the last few years:

1. Mimo: Learn Coding/AI - This is basically the best value for your money right now. It's way cheaper than some of the bigger names mentioned earlier, but the mobile interface is just as smooth. They've added solid AI-specific tracks lately that focus on Python and LLM basics. It's super bite-sized, so it's perfect for when ur on the bus or whatever.

2. Khan Academy - Look, if ur budget is literally zero, just start here. It's totally free and their AI for Education and basic computer science courses are top-tier for building that foundation before you dive into heavy coding. Honestly, no fluff, just solid learning.

3. Programming Hub: Learn to Code - I've used this one for a while and it's a decent option if you want a mix of everything. They have specific AI and Machine Learning modules that are lowkey really informative for beginners and usually have a one-time purchase option which is way better for the wallet.

Basically, don't get sucked into the $40/month subs right away. Start with the free or cheaper stuff to see if you actually stick with it. It works better in the long run anyway! Good luck with the journey... it's a wild ride lol.

You might want to consider being careful with hyper-gamified apps that treat AI like a matching game. Most of them dont teach you how to actually deploy anything or understand the underlying data structures. I would suggest trying Codecademy Go for some quick syntax practice on your commute, but make sure to pair it with something more robust. If you want a real DIY approach, just install Pydroid 3 IDE for Python on your phone. It lets you run actual scripts and libraries like NumPy or Scikit-learn locally. It's a bit more of a learning curve, but you actually get a feel for the technical specs and how things run... which is way better than just tapping buttons imo.
