What are the top-rated mobile apps for studying artificial intelligence?

Which mobile apps are actually worth the money for studying artificial intelligence from scratch? I spend about 45 minutes each way on the tube here in London and I really want to use that time for something productive instead of just playing games or staring at the wall. I am aiming to get into a data science role or at least a junior analyst position by the end of the year so I need to get my head around machine learning and neural networks and all that stuff.

Right now I am torn between getting a subscription for SoloLearn or going with Mimo. SoloLearn seems to have a dedicated AI path which is cool and the price is pretty low but I have heard the content can be a bit hit or miss since a lot of it feels community-driven and maybe a bit dated in parts. On the other hand Mimo feels really slick and the UI is great but I am not sure if their AI content is deep enough or if it is just basic python stuff dressed up to look like AI.

I also keep seeing Brilliant mentioned everywhere for the math and logic side of things. It looks super high quality but it is definitely the most expensive option and I am trying to keep my monthly spend under £15 if possible. My timeline is pretty tight because I want to start a more intensive bootcamp in September and I want to have a solid foundation before I drop a ton of money on that.

  • SoloLearn: Cheap, has a specific AI course, but is the quality okay?
  • Mimo: Great interface, good for coding practice, but is it too basic for AI?
  • Brilliant: Seems the most educational for the theory but it is pricey.

One big thing is that I need something that works well offline because the Jubilee line is a total dead zone for data and I cant be stuck with a loading screen for half my commute. Which one would you guys pick if you had a four-month window to get ready for a more serious course? Or is there something else I am totally missing that is better than these three?

I was so worried about wasting money on the wrong course but finding a structured path made me feel way safer! I spent months looking for something that wouldnt leave me confused and I absolutely love DataCamp Mobile for Data Science. It is fantastic for the Jubilee line since you can download everything!

  • The price usually stays under your limit.
  • It feels much more reliable than winging it. You got this!

tbh if youre stuck on the Jubilee line you need something with a legit offline mode. Enki AI and Data Science Premium is probably your best bet for keeping it under £15... it hits that sweet spot between theory and code.

  • Khan Academy Mobile Education App for the heavy math
  • Enki Python and AI Course for the drills The solo/mimo stuff is a bit too 'gamey' for a bootcamp prep imo.

Ive been working in ML for about seven years now and Ive tried basically every app under the sun during my own commutes over the years. Back when I was first starting out as a junior, I spent way too much time on apps that just felt like games rather than actual educational tools. In my experience, if youre serious about a bootcamp in September, you need to prioritize the logic over the syntax. Mimo is great for learning where a bracket goes, but it wont teach you why a gradient descent is failing or how a neural network actually weights its inputs.

  • Brilliant.org Premium Subscription is the clear winner for the Jubilee line. I used it to brush up on linear algebra and it works great offline. It is a bit over your budget if you pay monthly, but the annual deal usually brings it down to about 10 quid a month which is a steal for the quality.
  • DataCamp Interactive Data Science App is miles ahead of SoloLearn for actual AI content. They have specific tracks for machine learning that are much more up to date than the community stuff.
  • Enki AI and Data Science Skills is another one Ive used. Its more like a daily workout for your brain and covers stuff like Git and SQL too, which you will definitely need for that junior analyst role. Honestly, skip SoloLearn. The community content is a minefield of outdated info and weird formatting. Focus on the math on Brilliant for two months, then hit the Python libraries on DataCamp. That foundation will make your September bootcamp feel like a breeze instead of a total nightmare.
