So I keep seeing all this crazy stuff about AI like ChatGPT and those art generators and honestly my brain is kind of melting because I want to understand how it actually works but I have like zero coding skills. I mean I can barely use Excel without getting a headache lol. I was thinking maybe there's an app I can use on my phone while I'm on the bus to my shop in Seattle because I'm a florist and my hands are usually busy all day. My logic was that if I could just spend 20 minutes a day learning the basics it wouldnt be so overwhelming.

I tried looking at a few things already but got stuck:

  • YouTube (the videos are like 4 hours long and way too technical)
  • Coursera (it looks way too academic and scary for me)
  • Just googling (which just made me more confused with all the jargon)

I'm looking for something that's like gamified maybe? Kind of like Duolingo but for technology? I really want to learn how the machines actually think if that makes sense. I have about a $20 a month budget for a subscription if it's actually good and I'm hoping to understand at least the basics by the end of the summer. Sorry if this is a really basic question but I literally don't know where to start and it feels like everyone else already knows what's going on. Does an app like this even exist or am I dreaming?

I totally get that brain-melting feeling! AI is everywhere now and it is super overwhelming ngl. Honestly you should just grab Brilliant.org Premium Subscription because it is basically the Duolingo for tech that you are looking for. I used it last year when I was in the same boat and it is amazing!

  • It is super interactive. You are not just reading or watching, you are actually moving things around on the screen to see how the logic works.
  • No coding needed. They explain the math and logic using shapes and patterns which is fantastic for visual people.
  • Short lessons. You can easily finish a module while you are on the bus to your shop. It fits right in your budget and is way less scary than those 4-hour YouTube lectures. You will actually understand how the neural networks function without needing to write a single line of code... its honestly a life saver for us non-techies.

  • Building on the earlier suggestion, I would suggest Sololearn Pro AI Fundamentals Subscription.
  • Just be careful to check the free trial first so you dont waste your monthly budget.

I've been satisfied with DataCamp Mobile App AI Fundamentals lately. its a very stable, reliable way to learn about neural networks safely without the fluff. works well on the bus...
