im sorry if this is a dumb question but i have no idea what im doing. I promised my cousin we would play claw this weekend using the openclaw multiplayer thing but i need to host a server.
I looked at aws and azure and got so overwhelmed, i dont want to accidentally get a massive bill. My budget is only like 5 dollars for this month. Is there a super simple cloud provider that is cheap and wont confuse a total beginner? I just need something basic that works in the US.

- DigitalOcean is solid, but Vultr is a great alternative if you want to stay exactly at that 5 dollar price point.
- Vultr Cloud Compute Shared CPU 1GB RAM is $5 monthly.
- The dashboard is much cleaner than Azure for a beginner.
- US locations have low latency for multiplayer. Its a reliable choice for hosting a small OpenClaw server.

Go with DigitalOcean! I used them last year to host a retro game server for my friends and it was amazing. You wont get hit with crazy hidden bills. Here is the plan:
- Grab the DigitalOcean Basic Droplet 1GB RAM 1 CPU for just 6 dollars a month.
- Pick a US data center close to you.
- Use their one-click console, its super easy!

I had a huge scare with AWS billing once, so I totally feel your pain. For my last small game server, I went with the Linode Shared CPU 1GB RAM Nanode which is a flat 5 dollars a month. It was honestly a lifesaver. The interface is simple enough that I didnt break anything... Just pick a US data center near you so your cousin doesnt lag too much.
