im honestly fed up with trying to use desktop sites on my phone to learn this stuff, it keeps crashing and i cant see the code. i need to get the basics down before my internship starts in two weeks and im desperate for a real app.

  • under $20 budget
  • interactive lessons
  • ios compatible

what actually works?

Getting the basics down in two weeks is tight but doable. Desktop sites on mobile are a total nightmare for code anyway. I would suggest staying away from anything that doesn't have a built-in sandbox or mobile-first UI.

  • Sololearn AI and Python Learning App
  • This is probably your best bet for staying under 20 bucks. The interactive bits are solid. Just be careful tho, some deeper AI modules might require a pro sub, so check that pricing before committing.
  • Mimo Learn to Code Python AI Essentials
  • Very beginner friendly and runs smooth on iOS. It's built for quick sessions. Make sure to actually type the code out instead of just tapping hints, or you wont remember a thing for that internship... Honestly, Sololearn feels a bit more technical while Mimo is just easier to jump into. Both beat fighting a browser every single time.

Ive tried many apps over the years and Mimo Learn Coding and AI is easily the most stable for beginners.

  • Mobile IDE
  • Daily streaks It wont crash like those desktop sites, tbh.

Saw your post earlier and wanted to chime in because i've spent way too much time testing mobile dev environments over the years. If you've only got two weeks, you need something that doesn't waste time on setup or clunky UI. @Reply #1 - good point! built-in sandboxes are non-negotiable for mobile. Honestly, trying to copy-paste code on a touch screen is basically a form of torture... Heres what i've found actually works for the technical side:

  • DataCamp Data Science and AI iOS App
  • Their mobile-first coding exercises are top-tier. It covers Python and AI basics without needing a physical keyboard. Intro stuff is free, and the monthly sub is usually under $15.
  • Enki Learn Code and Data Science App
  • Solid for the conceptual stuff. It uses a flashcard-style system that really helps drill in the logic and machine learning syntax. Both are under your $20 budget and work perfectly on iOS. DataCamp is better for the hands-on code imo. Youll crush that internship.
