so i finally decided to start this blog ive been thinking about forever about native plants here in the portland area since i spend like all my weekends at the nursery anyway but honestly i am a terrible writer like really bad. i can barely write a caption for instagram without getting stuck for twenty minutes so the idea of writing 1000 words every week sounds actually impossible to me. i keep seeing ads for these ai things that supposedly write the whole post for you but i dont even know where to look because there are like a million of them now? my friend mentioned something called chat gpt but then someone else said i should use something else if i want it to sound like a real person and not a robot. i basically have no idea where to start and i dont want to waste money because my budget is pretty tight maybe like 20 or 25 bucks a month at most if it actually works well and helps me get through a post quickly. i tried one free thing yesterday but it just gave me a bunch of weird facts that werent even right and the sentences were all clunky and weird and i had to fix almost everything anyway. i really need something that can help me make it sound professional but also like a human wrote it because i want people to actually read it and not think im just spamming stuff. sorry if this is a really basic question i just have no clue what im doing and i feel like i am already falling behind before i even started. is there like a specific one everyone uses for blogging that is easy for someone who isnt a tech genius or should i just stick with the free stuff...

Like someone mentioned, Claude and ChatGPT are the main options being tossed around here. Both are fine for general stuff, but unfortunately, i found that using a basic chat interface can be frustrating when you are trying to write a long-form blog post. It is right at your $20 or $25 limit, but it has templates specifically for blog intros and outlines which helps a ton with that writers block you mentioned. I also spent some time with Writesonic Individual Plan recently. It is okay for generating drafts quickly, but honestly, the quality can be inconsistent compared to the others. Basically, the consensus so far is that Claude sounds the most human, while ChatGPT is more logical. But if you want a dedicated workflow that actually guides you through the 1000 words, a specialized tool is usually better than a blank chat box tho you still gotta fact check everything.

i tried a few one-click blog generators and unfortunately... they were kinda a letdown. honestly wasted money on stuff that just spit out repetitive junk. if you wanna stay in your budget:
- OpenAI ChatGPT Plus GPT-4o is the safest bet for $20, but it sounds generic unless you give it a persona.
- Copy.ai Pro Subscription is decent for outlines but i found it a bit clunky. dont expect them to do all the work tho, you still gotta check those plant names...

Honestly, i've been using Anthropic Claude.ai Claude 3.5 Sonnet for my own niche site and i'm super satisfied with how it writes. It fits right into your $20 budget and handles the heavy lifting without sounding like a total robot. Most of the free tools are pretty bad and give you those weird clunky sentences you were talking about. If you want it to sound like a real person, i usually do this:
- Give it a few bullet points about what you saw at the nursery.
- Tell it to use a conversational and local tone.
- Ask it to avoid using fancy academic words. I have no complaints since making the switch. It works well for getting a draft done in like ten minutes instead of two hours. Definitely better than the basic free versions of other tools tho... i'd just go with that.
