I'm so hyped to finally get an OpenClaw server going for a big nostalgia night with my old high school buddies next Friday! Ive been digging around and saw some guys on Reddit saying Linode is the way to go because of their CPU clock speeds but then I read this other thread claiming AWS lightsail is better for gaming instances. My logic was that since OpenClaw is pretty lightweight I could just go with the cheapest tier but now Im worried about lag since we're all spread out across Germany and the UK. I have like a $12 budget for the month and really need something that wont stutter when things get crazy on screen... do the extra compute units actually matter for an engine recreation like this or is it all just marketing talk?

Oh man, OpenClaw is absolutely amazing!! Bringing back Captain Claw for a nostalgia night is literally the best idea ever. Honestly, since you guys are all in Germany and the UK, you should definitely look at Hetzner. I have been using them for years and the Hetzner CPX11 Cloud Instance is fantastic for this kind of thing. It is super cheap, way under your $12 budget, and their pings across Europe are incredible. Honestly the extra compute units are mostly marketing talk for a lightweight engine like this... you really wont need much power. Linode Shared CPU 1GB Nanode is also a solid choice if you want that Reddit-recommended reliability, but Hetzner is the king of budget in Europe. Go with the cheapest tier and save that extra cash for snacks! It is gonna be such a blast playing with your buddies again!
