Hey everyone! I have been trying to dive deeper into the world of AI and machine learning lately, but my schedule is absolutely packed. I spend about an hour and a half on the train every day, so I really want to make use of that time by learning through a mobile app.

I have checked out a few generic coding apps like Mimo and Sololearn, but I am finding it hard to find one that specifically nails the AI and Python side of things. I am looking for something that goes beyond just the basic syntax and actually explains deeper concepts like neural networks or how to properly integrate LLM APIs into a project. I really need an app that features a solid built-in code editor because I want to actually type out the scripts and see the output rather than just tapping on multiple-choice answers all the time.

My main concern is finding a platform that offers a good balance between theory and hands-on practice without being too gamified. I want to actually understand the logic behind the algorithms, not just collect experience points.

Does anyone have a favorite app that they have actually used to successfully build an AI-related project? I would love to hear which ones you think have the most comprehensive and practical curriculum for machine learning specifically.

Had a moment to think... AI is basically just math logic turned into code, so understanding the theory is huge!! Without a solid editor, ur basically just guessing. For a budget-friendly option, I highkey love DataCamp: Learn Data Science.

  • DataCamp Premium Monthly Subscription
  • Pyto
  • Python 3 for testing scripts It’s reallyyy great for learning neural networks on the go without it feeling too gamified. Best value for ur train ride! Peace

TL;DR: Learning apps are becoming overpriced scams and the quality is dropping while prices keep hiking up. Stumbled on this today and honestly the current state of mobile learning drives me crazy. I have to politely disagree with the previous suggestions because these big platforms are just getting too greedy. It is such a scam how they lock basic logic behind massive monthly fees while the actual depth of the courses is going downhill. Companies dont seem to care about the student experience anymore. They just want that recurring revenue from people like us trying to be productive on our commutes.

  • Subscription costs are reaching insane levels.
  • The hand-holding makes you feel like you are learning when you are really just tapping buttons.
  • Quality control is non-existent in newer modules. I am satisfied with my own progress despite these hurdles, but finding something that isnt a total cash grab is basically impossible now. Its just frustrating.

been thinking about your train ride... honestly just stick with the big industry leaders if you want it done right. i've been using the learning platforms from Google and i'm really satisfied with how they break down the heavy math stuff without making it feel like a mobile game.

  • go with Google for anything AI related, they basically invented half this stuff
  • their mobile modules are surprisingly good for technical analysis and logic
  • you wont have to worry about security or weird bugs with their official apps
  • just stick to their official training tracks if you want that hands-on feel it works well for me and i havent had any complaints about the depth. they really get into the weeds of how neural nets actually function... plus it feels way more reliable knowing the info is coming straight from the source.
