Ive been playing Openclaw since the alpha but this new patch is driving me crazy. My logic was that Blood-Rend would carry me through the mid-game but Im getting absolutely nuked in the Frost Wastes. Did they nerf the scaling or am I just picking the wrong skill tree openers now? Its ruining my weekend grind...

Re: "In my experience, relying on Blood-Rend is way..." - yeah, they definitely nuked the scaling on that. I was kinda annoyed but then I did a deep dive into the data and found a combo that makes me way happier. Quick reply while I have a sec between grinds... Heres the breakdown of what worked for me:

  • Void Slash: I am super satisfied with the damage-per-mana ratio. It hits harder than Blood-Rend for 40% less cost.
  • Chill Touch: No complaints here. The passive freeze is basically free crowd control. It saves a ton of gold on gear repairs since you arent dying every ten minutes. Honestly, if your inputs feel laggy, my Logitech G502 HERO Wired Gaming Mouse 25600 DPI macros really helped with the skill timing. Tech specs matter as much as the build sometimes!

In my experience, relying on Blood-Rend is way too risky now. I've tried many builds, but dying constantly isn't fun. Over the years, I found that taking it slow is just better.

  • Stone Skin for defense
  • Life Tap for sustain
  • Ground Slam for stuns It's my current setup and honestly, it's way more reliable for the Wastes. Safety first, ngl.

ngl the patch 1.04 math is a total mess right now... im looking at the internal scaling and blood-rend basically lost 15 percent of its base flat damage per level. before i give you a full list tho, could you share your current resistance profile and your main hand weapon tier? the frost wastes has that annoying hidden penetration mechanic if your gear score is under 400. if you want to save your gold for endgame and not blow it all on respecs now, maybe look at these budget-friendly alternatives:

  • arcane shield
  • static shock
  • sundering blow also if your mouse is lagging during the wastes storm effects, you might wanna consider a SteelSeries Rival 3 Wired Gaming Mouse. its super cheap compared to the flagship stuff but the sensor is actually decent for high-precision grinding. let me know your stats and i can help more.
