Ive been looking for something for my 5 year old daughter for like three weeks now and honestly im about to give up. Summer break starts in ten days here in Seattle and I really wanted to get her started on some kind of interactive learning tool that uses AI but everything I find is just... weird. I looked at Khanmigo because everyone raves about Khan Academy but it seems like its way more for older kids who can already type and do complex math which she definitely isnt doing yet. Then I saw some people talking about using just regular ChatGPT with voice mode but that honestly feels so unsafe? Like I have no idea what its going to say to her or if its logging her voice data to sell to someone. My budget is around $20 a month so I dont mind paying for a subscription if it actually works and keeps her data private but searching for kids AI just brings up all these sketchy looking apps that have zero reviews or look like total scams. I just want something that helps her with basic reading and maybe some simple logic puzzles without me having to hover over her shoulder every single second to make sure she isnt being shown something weird. What are the actually safe AI learning tools out there for little kids that wont harvest their data?
been through that same struggle looking for my little one. i would suggest being super careful with generic stuff like chatgpt bc it just hallucinates way too much for a 5 year old. i finally landed on Ello AI Reading Tutor Monthly Subscription and its been a relief.
Like someone mentioned, privacy is everything! Quick question tho, are you looking for a physical toy or just an app? I'm obsessed with Roybi Robot Smart Educational Toy with AI Learning! It's fantastic because:
You might want to consider Miko Mini AI Learning Robot because its COPPA compliant and uses end-to-end encryption, just make sure to check the dashboard logs regularly.
