I just started this little blog about my garden here in Seattle because my neighbors keep asking what I'm planting and I thought it would be easier to just put it online but honestly my writing is just terrible and it takes me hours to finish a single paragraph. I've heard people talking about these computer programs that can write for you but I'm so confused about how it works like does it actually sound like a person? I tried one free thing I found on Google but it sounded like a robot wrote a manual or something and it was just really stiff and weird.

I don't have much money to spend maybe like 25 bucks a month tops if it actually works well because I really want it to sound like me just chatting with friends about tomatoes and soil and stuff. I'm kind of worried readers will be able to tell if a machine wrote it and that feels a bit embarrassing so I really need something that fits these things:

  • easy for a beginner to use
  • sounds very natural
  • lets me change the tone to be friendly

I'm sorry if this is a super basic thing to ask but I'm just totally lost with all the different websites and options out there. I really just want to share my hobby without it looking like a computer did the work. Which tools produce content that actually sounds like a real person talking?

I've been using these tools for my own site for a while and they are a total game changer once you find the right one. For your $25 budget, you have two amazing options thatll save you so much time. First, you gotta check out OpenAI ChatGPT Plus Subscription. Its like 20 bucks a month and the newest model is seriously smart. If you tell it "hey, act like a friendly gardener from Seattle," it actually does a pretty good job. Sometimes it can get a bit flowery with the adjectives tho, so you just tell it to "stop being so dramatic" and it usually listens! But tbh, my absolute favorite for natural writing is Anthropic Claude 3 Pro. I love it because it feels way more like a human wrote it than anything else out there right now. It doesnt use those weird robotic words that ChatGPT sometimes defaults to. It is fantastic for that "chatting with friends" vibe you're looking for. It stays right at $20 a month too. If you want something specifically for blogs, Copy.ai Solo Plan is also cool because it has built-in templates, but honestly I think Claude sounds the most "real" for a personal hobby blog. Dont worry about the machine feel... just give the AI a few personal details about your day first and it blends it all together perfectly. You're gonna do great!

Late to the party but... To add to the point above: definitely be careful with technical gardening stuff. AI can make up facts about soil or pesticides that are totally wrong. I suggest looking at Writesonic Individual Plan because it lets you set a specific tone of voice for your blog. Its pretty user friendly and stays under your budget. Just make sure to fact check the plant info tho!
