Best agent skills to prioritize for solo queue beginners?

Im losing my mind here. Ive been trying to get into Valorant for the past two weeks after work to unwind, but solo queue is just an absolute nightmare. My aim is decent enough from playing other shooters, but I feel like I have zero impact on the game because I dont know which agents I should even be focusing on. Every guide I see online says to just play Reyna if you want to climb solo, but honestly, I just get instakilled and then my teammates yell at me because I couldnt 1v5. Then I read someone else say I should learn Omen or Brimstone for utility, but if I smoke wrong, I just make things worse for my team anyway.

Im playing on a super old laptop that barely hits 60fps so maybe that matters? I really just want a character that can help me learn the game mechanics without needing god-tier reflexes or a coordinated team that never exists in my lobbies. What skills should I actually be prioritizing when picking someone? Is it better to stick to self-sufficient agents or should I just force myself to learn a controller even if I suck at it right now? Im just tired of being the bottom frag every single game...

Honestly, stop chasing Reyna. Play Sage. Her walls create breathing room for your aim. Also, snag a Logitech G502 HERO High-Performance Wired Gaming Mouse to help with that low fps struggle.

Forget the Reyna trap. You need utility that helps without needing 100 ping reflexes. Have you tried picking up an initiator like Skye? She lets you gather info for the squad without needing to be the first one in. Also, if that laptop is struggling, are you using a decent headset? I use the HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset 7.1 Surround Sound and it made a huge difference in hearing footsteps before I get peeked.
