Which agent skills are best for solo queuing in Valorant? Honestly Im super lost because I just started playing last week and every single game feels like absolute chaos. I keep getting crushed by people who seem to have these crazy abilities that I dont even understand yet.

Im trying to get better but I play mostly at night in my room in Seattle and I dont have any friends who play this, so Im always stuck with randoms who dont communicate at all. Its super frustrating when I try to help but end up dying in like two seconds. Should I be picking someone who can heal or maybe someone who can just throw stuff to block the other team? I dont know if I should look for movement skills or just stuff that does damage. I dont have any money to spend on skins or anything, just trying to figure out which character wont make me a total liability to my team. Is there like one specific skill set that makes it easier to survive when you have zero backup? Im just really confused by all the options and have no idea where to start...

Welcome to the game! Honestly, solo queue can be rough at first, but stick with it. Since your team usually isnt talking, you gotta pick agents who can take care of themselves. Self-sufficiency is the key to not dying every round.

  • Reyna is honestly great because you can heal yourself after a kill.
  • Omen lets you smoke off sightlines, which helps you move around safely.
  • Sage is solid if you just want to wall off paths and keep your health topped up. Grab a decent headset like the HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset 7.1 Surround Sound so you can hear footsteps clearly. It helps so much when youre playing alone. Just focus on your crosshair placement and you will be fine. Let me know if you need more tips on specific maps!

Jumping in here to say ignore the fancy stuff for a second. If you want to survive solo, you need to stop relying on teammates who arent talking. Pick Phoenix. His wall and flare blind are basically the best solo tools since you can heal yourself with the fire and peek corners safely. You dont need to spend money to be good, just focus on learning the maps and sound cues. If your current audio setup is muddy, grab something like the Logitech G435 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Headset when it goes on sale. It works well and wont break the bank. Just practice your crosshair placement instead of buying skins. You will climb out of the chaos eventually, just keep grinding those flashes.

Re: Welcome to the game! Honestly, solo queue can be rough at first, but stick with it. I feel your pain though, solo queuing is honestly a nightmare sometimes. I started out trying to be the hero with high-damage agents but unfortunately just ended up feeding kills. It was not as good as expected. Nowadays I stick to agents with defensive utility so I can at least stay alive while my team runs around aimlessly.

  • Omen is a life saver because his smokes let you block vision safely from across the map.
  • Killjoy is great for locking down a site so you dont get flanked by randoms. Also, make sure your audio is actually helping you. I had issues with cheap earbuds failing me, so I grabbed a Logitech G435 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Headset which was around 50 bucks and it made a huge difference hearing footsteps. Dont stress the aim too much yet, just focus on not being the first one dead.
